I think some people are making a bit much fuzz here. He is not trying to HIDE anyone in the room. He is also not taking additional occupants beyond the allowance in.
And definetely would there be no charge of the rack rate.
I would however suggest to do the trade differently like transferring it directly into your account depending what award you are using.
