Interesting to see this old thread bumped. I'd forgotten all about it.

I did stay here a second time, can't recall when, but might have been 2008. Usual reason, to see the fall scenery in the surrounding areas. I assumed I had updated my impressions of that ES, though evidently not. (It seems as if I did post my second visit, and I hope that I don't post this and then discover an already-existing post--anyhow.)

On second visit to this ES, we asked for the original section rather than the addition, and we were also given a corner suite as an upgrade. We liked the brighter color scheme of the original section much better. There was a problem with outside lights shining in, despite heavy night curtains. The vinyl curtains didn't close sufficiently, and the outside lights were very bright, especially in the living room for anyone sleeping on the pull-out sofa.

The bright lights through the curtains sounds like a petty thing to complain about. I'm not stating it as a complaint, just as a factual statement. I did like the place quite a bit better the second stay, FWIW.

On the second stay, no doughnuts brought in from outside bakery, just a standard but good ES breakfast. DH complained about the quality of the gravy, but ignore us--we are very spoiled these days, thanks to a lot of quality Hilton breakfasts!

Courtesy at the front desk had improved considerably, but I think that is always going to be variable. It's a busy place. One night, the first night we were there, there was quite an evening reception, with sandwiches, etc., put out. Management had brought an enormous TV into the reception room and people were watching a football game. Next night (Sunday? I've forgotten) there was nothing except maybe drinks and maybe something like pretzels, I've forgotten, and that not even in the reception room but in a regular bar area.

I suppose I'd stay there again if ever I return to the area.

I do agree that this is an upscale ES. From the highway it looks massive and very attractive.
