[*]EgyptAir have announced their latest B77W destination ...
Dubai.
The airline will operate the CAI-DXB night flight
(MS910/911) from a B738 to the B77W from 17 June. This is in addition to the morning A330-200 flight.
MS could do more flying with the aircraft between the daily LHR flights. MS910/911 (DXB) will fit very well with LHR's MS777/778:
MS777 departs at 10:30
MS778 arrives at 21:45
MS910 departs at 23:15
MS911 arrives at 07:45
So now the aircraft only sits on the ground in CAI for a couple of hours before each flight operating CAI-LHR-CAI-DXB-CAI back to back.
This is very good, because before, the aircraft would only serve LHR, and stay on the ground in CAI for hours. Now, they will be used on a profitable Dubai route.
Why Dubai?
- Cairo-Dubai traffic during the summer is extremely high, so there shouldn't be an issue filling the capacity (almost 4,400 seats each week per direction).
- Last summer, MS operated this flight with an A330-200 (268 seats), so upgrading the flight to a B77W (346 seats) this summer, is just only a 30% increase in seats versus last year.
- As you said this allows MS to offer its latest product on a competitive route. Since this is a night flight, passengers will be able to sample the lie-flat beds in business (although it is only a 3+ hour flight).
- EK operate their 10 DXB-CAI flights with B777-300 and B777-300ER aircraft and SQ operate their 4 DXB-CAI with B777-200, so EgyptAir is matching aircraft type.
- MS are also operating 4x weekly ALY-DXB A320 flights, which competes with flyDubai's daily DXB-HBE B738 flight.

With EgyptAir's competitive prices, I honestly think their 77W product on the Dubai route can compete with EK for both Premium and Economy passengers!
