check out booking.fr for hotel options...including a map feature which is helpful. my wife and I enjoy staying in the 5arr, in a fairly quiet area behind Notre Dame. there's a metro stop across the street, the batobus down the street, and easy access to St. Germ, Louvre, Marais, etc. we've stayed at both the Agora St. Germ and Hotel Abbatial St. Germ, both owned by the same owner. clean, decent sized rooms, decent special rates, etc...always good experiences. frankly, there are so many options and it can be a bit daunting...but, once you're in Paris, it's all worth the effort. good luck...
