In fact, for the LAX flights on an afternoon/evening, I've typically been the only one in the club. This is one of the reasons I finally purchased a membership rather than entering on an AmEx.
My hope is with AS moving to the new terminal in July the club might get more foot traffic from all of the AA people flying codeshares on AS, even if it's a hike to the AS gates. Maybe AS/AA can work out an arrangement for Board Room members to use the club like they can at AUS and ORD. ^
Perhaps I'm hoping for too much.

I think that would be a great idea! AS is really expanding operations from SJC. AS/Horizon flies to Maui, Kona, Portland, Seattle, Palm Springs, LAX (starting August)--I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything. Personally, I wish the US-carriers would do more to cooperate as far as lounge access is concerned. In many smaller European airports where most airlines only have a few flights daily, third-party lounges are generally available for use by Business Class passengers and elites. US Airports such as SJC need to implement similar systems in order to satisfy premium customers.
On a separate note, I am very much in favor of greater AA/AS cooperation (lounge access for AC/BR members and upgrades). AS has a much better network on the west coast and I would fly them more if I could receive more perks.
