Nothing, unless it's below full, which if it is, and it's not noted on the paperwork, get them to mark the tank as 7/8 full or whatever before you leave the lot.
Having a "not quite full tank" is another joy of renting cars

What I do is simply calculate the number of miles that I have driven during the rental. I then take the average in city federal MPG rating for the car I have rented and calculate the number of gallons burned. I fill the tank with that amount of gas plus the additional needed to get back to the rental lot and add that to the tank. The gauge always goes back to full (or whatever position it started at). Never had an issue with a rental car company.
