Why not just bring the birth certificate itself? It's not a top-secret document, and it is not hard to replace if it gets damaged. A photocopy probably would work, but I don't get it. Birth certificates are about $10.

If there is something special about the one you have already, then go to city hall and get a duplicate for $10 and bring that.
