Based on my personal experience and FF program/flight pattern, I absolutely agree with FlyerAl's analysis.
There aren't many choices for us up north when it comes to good FF programs, or good airlines, for that matter. I am currently thinning my loyalty between AA, CO and NW, depending on which airline serves my route best. When CX joined OneWorld, my allegiance to AA increased plenty. Now that C3K is with AA too, I am pretty sure most, if not all, my business will go to AA.
American Airlines remains one of the best airlines in the highly competitive industry - with a fabulous FF program and dedicated staff to boot - and unlike in the past when it had a poor link to the Canadian market, now it has C3K and everything will work out on its own. I am glad for this alliance. Truly glad.
