Sending a mid-year statement would be meaningless - as you point out.
As pointed out by some in the past - you might check on the cut over date - hence you might defer match until after that date. I think if you are matched in the second half of the year - you go through all of 2011 until Feb, 2012, rather than Feb, 2011.
Yes, I am aware, as is anyone who is familiar with status matches, or anyone who has followed this thread that post June 1 or post July 1 status matches are significantly more attractive, and end up running up to about 20 months at that status, whether you renew or not.
Thanks for the suggestion of sending a year end statement for 2009, I would not have thought of that.
