Thanks for the group desk advice. That's the kind of thing I was looking for on the airline side. Does anyone know about the travel agent side of things?

It's a ton of work. That's why he is starting it a good year in advance. They already have the hotel down. They also want to organize a bus and take everybody on a little tour around Germany for the remainder. I might be able to put him in touch with a travel agent in Germany for that part.

Having the possibility of two airlines would be good. So the question would be if there is a much better discount if you book 40 instead of just 15-20. If there is just one generic group discount once you hit 10-15, then two carriers are the better choice.

Possibly even a good idea to choose carriers from two different alliances so people can maximize their points. Although I don't know if that's important to them.
