1 - baiju - since most foreigners who you will be gifting Baiju to wouldnt tell the difference between a $30 and a $1000 bottle, aim for a bottle that looks nice! Maotai is the most famous brand.

2 - Cigarettes - Yesterday I bought 'Golden Deer' at 27rmb for 200. (€3), and they came with a 15rmb free magnetic 3d drinks coaster (still dont understand the need for a magnetic drinks coaster). Western brands are about 100rmb for 200. they also sell cartons of 60 and 400

3 - Sweets - The Chinese have a different type of sweet tooth. Any Sweets / Chocolates / cakes I've bought in the airport for the office have resulted in comments from the finance department of 'buy M&M's next time'

4 - Expo brands - the official expo branded stuff is all hologrammed, but I didnt see them in the airport. Beware poor quality fakes downtown.
