JDiver makes a good point. This is only your second time flying. Hopefully you will do a lot more and will enjoy the whole package of experiences. Some of those experiences may not be as preferable as others, but they are still experiences. Starving students, starving soldiers and not-so-starving business travelers have all had such experiences, all adding up to the stories we can tell. Someday, you might be on this board providing advice to another young traveler about to set out on his own great adventure - and your advice will be based on your experiences. You have to start collecting them some time.

Having said that, as others have pointed out, the situation you have described doesn't give cause for any worry. You should be fine.

I second the motion that somebody made - make sure you enroll in AAdvantage and read up on how it works. No point in wasting the precious miles.
