And I'm not sure how you can believe that a U.S. citizen showing a Taiwanese passport in order to LEAVE the U.S. can possibly constitute compliance with the requirement to use a U.S. passport to leave the U.S. Like you said, CBP can and does "fish through the data." If you have a second passport and wish to try it, I'm not stopping you. But, as I said, in the off chance that something hits the fan later, showing the airline agent the U.S. passport is a safer path.
