Don't test the system. You will end up like that Hays woman with her civil fine for interference. There are Civil Fines associated with "testing the system."
TSORon already described how he conducts the test. Can you tell us the name of the test, how you perform it, and whether there is more than one type of test that would be suitable, since these are the things that are concerning most people here.
