Note that the super popular cart at 53rd and 6th is the one on the southwest corner and is ONLY there at night (from about 7pm to about 5am). The cart in that spot during the day sucks.

The same people have another cart across the street on the southeast corner that is there during the day (and it's only $5 instead of $6 before 2pm) and rarely has much of a line, yet serves the identical food. There are other carts around serving similar food, but these two consistently win contests (including midtownlunch's original Street Meat Palooza).

Other carts/trucks I particularly like:

• Biryani cart (SW corner of 46th and 6th: go for the chicken tikka and the kati rolls)
• Kwik Meal (SW corner of 45th and 6th)
• Jamaican Dutchy cart (51st between 6th and 7th)
• Schnitzel Truck (various locations, check their twitter feed)
