I agree this is very poor if this is actually correct. But I'm also interested to know why they didn't offer you something from Club Kitchen or even from CW. I'm sure if there was NO food in F the crew would offer something from CW instead.
Well, there's coming round and coming round. Actually coming offering drinks (water, orange juice) happened twice. Coming round offering food, never. I asked about food and they said they could only offer chocolates. And, as I said, there was no food in the galley. They suggested to a couple of passengers that they should have been advised of the problems on the ground and offered compensation. No compensation had been offered so they gave out complaint forms. I've contacted BA directly.

I have to assume I didn't check the Club World kitchen assuming, as this was my first experience of travelling during the 'strike period' that they'd be no food there either. The CW sandwiches suggest they were calling on food from the cabin though.

I'll be more proactive on the return as the service does not seem to be typical of what should be expected during the current industrial action. Also, rather bizarrely there were no announcements from the cabin crew - unless they were not broadcast to the First cabin after the general welcome and information about in flight entertainment, plus no duty free, until just before landing with instructions to prepare the cabin for landing.
