How about making a list of outdated Holiday Inn's, I can name a few that I have stayed in recently. Definitely the price is not for a 3 star.

1) Holiday Inn Darwin Australia - Room is so old. Bed is hard and pillows are very smelly and matress is not to HI standard. No mini bar ( I mean there is absolutely nothing in the minibar). No Platinum recognition. Will charge you $0.50/min on internet but will max out. About $150/nyt.

1) Holiday Inn Manila - Its like 20 year old without renovation. Rate is about $100/nyt. Nice matress and bed.

Few HI that I have stayed in and looks ok and 3 start standard maintained.

1) Holiday Inn Macau - Platinum recogniton, renovated and new. $100/nyt.

2) HI Express Six Flags Texas - renovated. Free breakfast & internet. $150/nyt.
