Any chance of a platinum upgrade? The SPG Platinum line can't seem to figure out if the suites are select standard. I also doubt that this resort will be knowledgeable on Platinum benefits.
I was actually upgraded as a Platinum at both the hotels. However, both the Starwood hotels in the Seychelles are underwhelming. Barbarons is a bit newer than Fisherman's Cove but the location is not as nice (in my opinion). However, if all you want to do is "sit" at the resort then either will do just fine.
If you have an option, stay at the Hilton. I actually cut short my stay at Fisherman's Cove to move back to the Hilton.
