Bumping for recent experiences. I'm staying at Le Meridien Barbarons in July. I'm not expecting the world, but I also don't want to fly halfway around the world and stay in a dump.

Any chance of a platinum upgrade? The SPG Platinum line can't seem to figure out if the suites are select standard. I also doubt that this resort will be knowledgeable on Platinum benefits.
