NB: So the way I see it you earn 3x comp upgrades by flying NZ (1 as Silver, 2 as Gold) which you can use to upgrade your later flights. You also only need another 178 status points to upgrade to Gold Elite which you could easily get from some cheap F fares on UA/CO/US. This would give you .
If you sign up to one of the Globalplus credit cards which gives you AirNZ status credits you will be able to get the last 178 points, (which shouldn't be to hard if you can put all that travel on a linked card).
