Still, OP says they have the marriott visa, if it's the $65 annual fee it gives you automatic silver. So that would be 17 points per dollar, or 510,000 points on a 30k spend.
i was told by the categoring manager at a marriott nearby that its only 3 points per dollar spent at events hosted at marriott to max of 50K points. oh well, that sucks...
