Just be aware that Ryanair won't accept anything except passports, even on internal flights.
For other airlines you need to check their web site to see what they will accept - the ones I have used all had long lists of documents that they deem acceptable.
On my one, thankfully only, Ryanair flight I used a Barclays Bank access card as ID and they did not blink. I only did it because a colleague told me it would work, I told him it would not. He was correct. It cost me two pints.
