Shame HSBC Premier does not operate in the Netherlands, otherwise it might be ideal for me. It's always a hassle transferring money between accounts across borders, especially in foreign currencies that seem to fluctuate like yo-yo's.

Odd though that in the US a basic requirement is maintaining $100,000 in a checking account. I prefer to keep the bulk of money in savings accounts or elsewhere where it will earn some money while sitting around doing nothing, and only put money onto my checking account when I need it.
