Planning to use my "reward day" for a weekend rental out of LAS airport. Looks like I can get up to Premium (group G). I'm looking for suggestions on what the ideal car for me to get is. My needs/desires:
- Will have no more than 3-4 people in the car at any time
- It's a boys trip so something fun to drive would be nice
- It's a weekend trip so I'll only have a weekender duffel and possibly a laptop bag (i.e., ok if tiny trunk)
My initial thoughts are a Mustang (or equivalent) or maybe an intermediate SUV. Thoughts?
If you're going for longer than 15 minute rides, the boys you put in the back will be disappointed, to say the least, if you get a Mustang. With an "up to premium", I'd shoot for maybe a new Sonata. I don't think Avis has that many other "fun" cars that can fit 3-4 people and are class G or lower. The newer Fords (Milan/Fusion, Taurus, etc) are always fun in my opinion. If they'll give you a midsize SUV, the GM crossovers (Enclave, Outlook, Traverse, and the GMC one) have not let me down yet. I also like the Edge. I don't think the foreign cars are much fun when it comes to smaller SUVs. Also, maybe a Sebring convertible would be in the works. It's a bit bigger (at least I think) than the Mustang and a drop top with the guys is always fun.
