Well, the odds that you're every going to get value out of one of these "experience" type of travel auctions is very low. There's always going to be someone bidding with more enthusiasm than sense.
I would note that today's San Antonio travel package includes roundtrip airfare from anywhere in the US. So maybe Alaskans and Hawaiians could consider a bid (but even they might find the pricing less than attractive).
