this is true, but it is pretty hard to get AND as noted requires I believe at least a one year committment. Might even be two. Lookup the code on the hofo forums before calling AT&T. Helps if you already have a FAN account or other corporate discount in place.

You can get a FONIC card in germany, operates on one of the largest networks. Works out to 2.50 EURO a day flat rate, or 25 MAX a month.

Nice thing about this card is that calls to the USA and mobile are only .09 euro a minute. Pretty good deal. Get a sim and stick it in your iphone, OR they also sell a usb stick, which you could plug into a laptop, then make your own hotspot with the laptop, then use the IPHONE connected via WIFI and use skype for unlimited calling to the USA.
