The seven day card works out to be about 13.8 trips if you bought a pay per ride card ($27 for the card plus the 15% bonus). If in your five days you plan on taking the subways and buses 14 or more times (not counting any transfers) then it's worth it. If on some of those days you may be doing a lot of walking and not getting on the subways or buses, then it may not be worth it. It totally depends on your plans in the city.

The extra express bus fares will only be good if you are taking the express busses enough to make up the cost difference. Most tourists don't go near those, they are mainly for people commuting into work. The express fares are $5.50 instead of the regular $2.25 which is why the passes are higher priced.
