As you probably aware, Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Take the comments in trip advisor with a grain of salt. Go and enjoy the country which is a lot less touristy than Costa Rica and mainly an undiscovered jewel for those of us who like a tropical holiday!

Thanks for that. I have to admit, I had not really looked at Nicaragua until I was looking for cheap destinations for a Tier Point run for BA. Quite a few people have said: "What on earth do you want to go there for...?"
And now that I have actually researched and looked at the country, it looks beautiful. Granada looks very nice, the lake, the greenery... Stunning.

I always tend to take Tripadvisor with a pinch of salt. I know that hotels in different countries are not going to be at the same level as each other, even when they do come under the same brand. Some things are just not available in every country. I am very happy with the rate that I got, and will take it as it comes.
