On my PHL-ORD-HNL trip a few weeks ago, the ORD-HNL leg was canceled necessitating rebooking through LAX and arriving in Honolulu about 5 hours later than scheduled. Our bags went before us as three flight left ORD before ours and at least one left LAX before ours. When we got to HNL, there were at least a dozen people in the same boat who had to go to luggage claim to get bags, but ours were the only 4 sitting out next to the counter instead of in the back room, orange tags lighting the way!
