EZE is less expensive. EZE isn't "much less expensive." Other than official transport to/from the airport, taxis are cheap. Food is not cheap, but it is affordable, and wine is reasonable in restaurants. I frequent both cities. The US$ is weak in Chile, but it is still an affordable place. Santiago may (or may not) have more specific sites of interest, but Buenos Aires is an easier "place to hang out" city.
AEP v EZE - where my place is in the city, I'm somewhat torn. AEP is a lot closer, but I don't have any non-highway traffic to get to EZE. AEP is on city streets. TIme-wise, I probably don't save much. If you are staying in a Palermo, or in Recoleta, AEP is a lot easier and you will save a lot of time.
