Wow, that is amazing. So I assume that South Tyrolia in general has to some extent carried forward their initial special smoking law in Italy. They were completely free to smoke for several months longer than "mainland" Italy.

They could have dropped other traditional pastimes like second-class citizenship for women or third-class citizenship for migrant workers. But no, the self-protection from shishas was more pressing.
