We'll be in Sydney for about 9 days in July and would very much like to take a winery tour. I've found a couple of choices on the googles but wanted a little better insight before booking, as some of these are not cheap. I don't mind paying a premium price but I'd rather not drop $150US each on a long bus journey with a couple of glasses of wine in between. So I am hoping to get some advice!

Here in DC there is a lovely 6.5 hour tour that leaves from Union Station and takes you out to the wineries in one of the neighboring states. It is upscale van transport with a wine tasting while you ride, followed by three winery visits and a cafe lunch in the middle.

Something similar in Sydney would be perfect. I know it will take longer than 6.5 hours and that's fine. I'd like to visit 3-4 wineries (they all run together after the 4th or 5th tasting), would prefer something a little more upscale but since there's just the two of us, can't justify the cost of one of the private limo-sedan tours. I don't mind spending a premium, just don't want it to be $400US each! We will need hotel pickup/dropoff somewhere downtown/CBD/etc (haven't decided where to stay yet). Basically something a little fancier than getting on a big bus and driving half the day for a drink of jug wine.

If anyone's got any recommendations, I would love to hear!

thanks in advance!
