I was told that empty bottles aren't allowed (under the same rules that ban half-empty ones). Do they actually allow them through security at Schiphol?
And the most critical time for me, especially during the warmer part of the year, is the wait at the gate... so by the time I've boarded the aircraft I would be in considerable discomfort.
If water bottles taken from an open shelf pose a security risk then surely the answer is to sell them from behind the counter? Or don't they trust their staff not to tamper with them?

Thanks - useful to know. So much for "It's been like this nearly six month" which is what the stupid woman at the airport information desk tried to tell me. (She accused me of lying when I told her that I had no problems taking water through security last month...)
