UA will let you return product A for a death, but not buy product A and fly product B. That isn't a waiver, it is a different ticket.
Well, yes and no. I was curious if it is possible to change a simple US-EU RT(current itinerary) to two otherwise non-combinable (US-EU/Asia-US) one ways(and pay the difference), since two one-way fares are usually way more expensive than average of two round trips.
