One thing I can't work out is the impact of the injunction and delay on the automatic protection against dismissal, specifically what happens in the Court were on appeal to decide the injunction should not have been granted? It looks like whomever framed this legislation stuck in an arbitrary time limit on protection without really getting their heads around what could delay the process, like genuine attempts to settle via negotiation and/or action in the courts.

Given that, I would assume that the Union would want to push for an immediate strike if they win the appeal because their mandate is about to expire. Would they even have to give 7 days notice? No doubt there are lawyers earning yet more big bucks looking at this as we speak.
