Not all that cheap either, GLA-IBZ was £540 return in club, but that was better than paying £406 for Euro Traveller which is a crime in itself.....
But is the GLA to LCY aircraft also the same one that then continues on to IBZ? If not what happens if your flight from GLA is significantly delayed due to bad weather, volcanic ash or for other operational reasons? Surely in that situation on the right day of the week BA will probably try get you direct to MAD on their later service direct from LCY for an onward connection to IBZ or if there is no later LCY to MAD flight that day or you have also missed that flight they may try to get you to AMS, BRU, CDG, GVA or ZRH for some kind of onward connection from there to MAD or BCN and finally on to IBZ.
I can't imagine that BA will just give you your money back for LCY to IBZ and leave it up to you to find the first available direct flight with Easyjet, Thomson, Monarch etc from LGW, STN or LTN?
Short connections usually feel great when they work out but have exactly the opposite effect when you miss the connection.
As for half drunk people in the airport, what ever is wrong with that? It's the only way to travel
Perhaps the OP was one of the new politically correct brigade who only conducts their lives fuelled up on water and lettuce leaves? But certainly BA ought to be able to offer you something better than that down to LCY in Club Europe. I would have thought that on the whole these LCY to PMI and IBZ flights are going to have something of a party atmosphere to them given their relative exoticness compared to other destinations flown out of LCY. Although I suppose that flights to ZRH and GVA may well also have something of a similar atmosphere at the weekend during the winter skiing season.
