Not only do they not use the same search engine, they don't use the same databases and carriers don't necessarily file the same fares with all the sites. There are negotiated fares that AA makes available to Orbitz that may not be on AA.com & vice vers..... you just have to keep checking and comparing.... and it will vary market by market..... If you put a price tag on your own time...stick with a site like Travelocity and over time it will all come out in the wash
