Personally, I'd do SEA-AMS, only in that DTW-LHR is a short flight. On the SEA-AMS, you'll probably get a full 8hrs of sleep. On the DTW-LHR, 5-6hrs, maybe. Yet that doesn't take into account immigration, transfers, ground-transport, etc.
