I wouldn't even DARE ask Delta to attempt to "merge" the tickets...Delta's IT is NOT up to something like that...even if they try to attempt it, something BAD will happen, anything small like losing seat assignments on the NYC-BOS flight...all the way to losing ALL your flights and having a mess at LHR as they try to fix it all...

"Linking" the two PNRs is do-able and should be enough for the agent in Europe to see and thus tag your bag through to BOS
