Doesn't ATL have porters? I have never used them, but if I am not mistaken I have been bugged by guys with huge carts before.

If you are concerned about checking your KB and whether it can be insured I would call or even better yet, email DL ahead of time and ask what the policy is. I know that they generally consider instruments a limited liability item. However, provided you purchase insurance this might work out ok.
