CX Economy
Obliged as I am to fly Economy these days, I'm impressed with CX Economy class: reasonable (sub-awesome) and unobstructed leg room (at least between SYD and HKG), not to mention the excellent food, vast array of entertainment, and of course lovely flight attendants.
The CX cabin interiors appear to have retained their color very effectively over the years, with little or no fading. I attribute this to the airline's zero-tolerance approach to intruded sunlight on what used to be known as "daytime flights". The CX sun police display exceptional diligence and rapidity of response in the execution of their duties.
The provision of an on-board mini-zoo for the amusement of passengers while enroute to their seats is a nice touch, and I believe a CX exclusive. The airline has clearly gone to some trouble in the selection of its zoological accommodation. Being open at the front, the cages allow a certain degree of free movement of the animals during their period of internment, in line with contemporary zoological practice, though the airline appears to discourage personal contact with the animals. However, I have to say I'm disappointed with the small number and limited variety of fauna that were on display on each of my recent trips. Also, there appeared to be no food inside the cages and consequently some of the animals were in a distressed state. I think CX need to give some attention to this matter.
All in all, I'd give it 8/10.
