Any insight on the last DC-9 flight?

Hello all,

I've been reading some other forums discussing that the last DC-9 flights for the -30/-40 may be scheduled sometime in September. I was wondering if there were any insiders that may be able to confirm this or perhaps when the true last DC-9 flight (assuming it's the -50) will be?

I missed the UA 733 retirement, loved that aircraft. And while I love to hate the DC-9 as a passenger (but beats a CRJ!), I think it's a very nostalgic that is neat to still see around. I would hate to miss the DC-9 retirement and would seriously consider purchasing a ticket on the final flight. In terms of old workhorses, I think it's one of the last ones around in the US (727, 742, DC-10, L1011, etc.). I would appreciate any estimates or information so I may be able to have a chance at getting a ticket.

Thanks so much.
