Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I travel to the US a lot, but beyond WV my knowledge is pretty much limited to terminal buildings

Anyway, my Brother is going to study in NYC later this year, and will be living in (on?) Long Island. I'm probably stumping up the air miles for this trip, and being based in Northern UK, either MAN-EWR on CO, and MAN-JFK on DL look good bets.

What are the travel links like between either airport, and Long Island? He'll have quite a bit of luggage, and no doubt won't want a long and difficult journey on arrival. Would a cab be insanely expensive?
