Got stuck in Singapore after a UA delay, so rang up Hyatt and blew a FFN for this property.

Booked afternoon of, so wasn't expecting much in the way of an upgrade, but was placed on the Club level in the back tower (15th floor).

Room was decent, although some of the painted surfaces appeared to have been completed by a six-year-old.

Late check-out request was agreed to with a smile.

Lounge staff were very friendly and gave me some shopping tips for the malls in the area. Food in the lounge was plentiful and fresh. I didn't care for the corned beef hash but the scrambled eggs were tasty.

There are three restaurants in or near the lobby - Straits Kitchen was serving buffet-only when I checked and I wasn't that hungry. Had lunch instead at Mezza9, a two-course affair for SGD 29. Food was OK and service very attentive but the refills on my 6 oz (if that) Diet Coke were SGD 8 per, a detail that was not disclosed.

Yes, I realize I was not at Outback Steakhouse but when the initial charge on a soda is *that* high, I kind of expected a bottomless cup. I didn't say anything, since even though my wife is 10,000 miles away, I can still feel her stomp on my foot under the table when I look cheap in public.
