You are pretty much right on the money in your comments. I spoke with 2 bdo's this afternoon & told them what I observed. They said all jewelery etc must be removed before entering the "nude o scope" & that people almost never do it, thus the alarms & the feel good pat downs. Besides the privacy issues this all seems like such a stupid waste
One other thing, those bdo's told me that in approx 2 years we would not have a choice that the "nude o scope" will be required. To which I told them I've taken my last airline flt. when that happens.

It would seem that if all jewelry must be removed, then perhaps there is a metal detector component to the machine that alarms on the jewelry.
Unfortunately, if these diabolical machines become mandatory at airports, I would bet that we will see them at many other locations also in the future: sporting events, malls, banks and yea, to make Chertoff's wet dreams come true, at train and bus stations also.
What's going to happen when the first terrorist gets something through one of these machines? Actual physical strip searches?
