I am looking for an answer as well that would apply to Guangzhou and Hong Kong. I have read some info in the past that indicates this is possible, say in Guangzhou, but the multi-day rate was not that inexpensive by western standards.

I ended up dropping a suitcase at the Pullman airport hotel for a few days even though I was not checking it, but I do stay there periodically.
