Thumbs up

I've also noticed this is the cheapest Hyatt property in the Chicagoland area for racking up some promo nights. I checked into this property for the first time today and was pretty impressed.

Hyatt Place really has a nice property here for the price. The decor in the lobby and rooms is modern. Each of the rooms comes with a coffee maker and 42 inch plasma with a decent selection of channels. The room is kind of semi-divided between a bed area and a "living room" area with a sleeper couch and ottoman. There is also a little nook off the "living room" with a desk, mini-fridge, sink, and coffee maker. The tv is in the middle which is a little awkward from both rooms. I was really impressed with the selection of snacks, hot food, and beverages that are for sale. A downside is that they do not serve a hot breakfast, but I'm not planning on actually sleeping there anyways.

The location is not exactly happening, really in an office complex area but there are two restaurants within walking distance and not to far from the Schaumburg area that has some stuff to do. It would be a bit of a haul into Chicago proper.

The gym has some nice LifeFitness machines. 2 treadmills, an eliptical, and I think there was a bike in there. Plus an old school looking universal weight machine.

The service I received was great. I checked in with a human instead of the kiosk. The guy could not have been friendlier. He gave me a tour of the common areas, gave me the rundown on the food options, and let me know the names of all the staff that would be working this night. Maybe the best welcome I've ever gotten from a hotel including 5 stars.

I did the Hyatt Place Hoffman Estates last weekend and found all the same to be true expect for the front desk service. Although the room did smell better in Hoffman.

Anyways, thoroughly adequate hotel for a mattress run. Highly recommended.
