Are there any advantages to buying a United Ticket (I'm 1K) on Continental metal? (Over buying a Continental ticket.)

The tickets are the same price. (Within $10.)

I have a voucher for Continental, but I could save it for another time. I'm most worried about having the most status possible in case the volcano affects my return plans.

Thoughts?
