I've flown in that seat many times, both long haul (SAO) and shorter flights - some by requesting it, others because it was all that was left....and usually I enjoy it. On the long hauls, the seat behind is a crew rest seat, so you can store your things under the seat - not so domestic. If you don't mind being the center of attention, it's just fine - and while people my 'cross' over during boarding - you certain can be first off....
