I had about 1.6 million miles in one account and 200k points in another account. I asked American to combine the two since I figure I'd shoot for another set of VIPOWs with the lifetime mile thing and the total now is I have 1.6 million miles in one account and the other account is closed!

I called American and they were like there were duplicate transactions in the two accounts! Of course, they were credit card miles and goldpoint miles on two different accounts!

I had to fax in a request that stated they weren't duplicate. Hopefully they will resolve it!!!

The true test of AA customer service comes when they screw up!

Is there anything else I can do to expedite this? I get a bad feeling whenever they say "we'll research it" in terms of delays.

I need to claim my certs before the June 30
